Rita O’Hara, retired Northport High School clerical, passed away on July 19th, her 93rd birthday. Visitation July 22 at Brueggemann Funeral Home from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services on July 23, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 120 Vernon Valley Road, East Northport.
Trudy Brewer, retired Bellerose Avenue teacher, passed away on July 11 at the age of 97. She was a truly amazing person and caring teacher who is fondly remembered by her colleagues and students. She cared for her son, Scotty, born with Downs Syndrome, until she was 90, when she reluctantly placed him in a group home. She continued to live alone in her home until last year. In addition to Scotty, she is survived by her daughters Victoria and Liz.
She is in repose at Brueggermann’s Funeral Home in East Northport. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in East Northport on Wednesday, July 16th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.

Mel Rabinowitz, the husband of Myrna Rabinowitz, retired East Northport MS English teacher, passed away on July 8 at the age of 89. The following information has been provided:
