Sad News

Karen Gilmartin, retired Dickinson Avenue and East Northport Middle School Teacing Assistant, passed away on January 18. Karen is survived by her husband Thomas, son Patrick and daughter Jennifer, brother Thomas and sister Camille Furnari.

Visitation Friday, January 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Brueggemann Funeral Home in East Northport. Funeral mass on Saturday, January 24, 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in East Northport.

NHS Marching Band in DC

The Tigers Marching Band was invited to participate in the Washington DC Memorial Day Parade. The R-UTN congratulates the band members, directors, and everyone who works so hard to support the Northport High School music program.

Sad News

Kitty Zenkus, retired Northport High School clerical for 32 years, passed away on January 10th, at the age of 92. Kitty was predeceased by her husband John and is survived by her sons John and Anthony. Kitty was an important member of the high school clerical team, and for years she was the person who made sure student schedules work!

A funeral mass was held for Kitty at St. Phillip of Neri Church, followed by burial at the St. Phillip of Neri Cemetery in East Northport. Her family has asked that donations in Kitty’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
