Sad News

Dorothy “Dottie” M Holland, 92, of Northport, October 3, 2020. Dottie worked at Northport High School and was a beloved member of the Tiger Community. The students, especially those that she advised in the Pep Club, became a tremendous source of pride and joy. She remained in close contact with many of those students over the years. After retirement she devoted herself to her beloved grandchildren and charitable organizations.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Dottie Holland Memorial Scholarship at Northport High School or St Charles Hospital Auxiliary Northport Chapter.

With Election Day is only a few short weeks away, early voting has begun in many states. In New York early voting will take place for one week prior to Election Day, from Saturday, October 24 – Sunday, November 1. For our members living in Florida, the statewide early voting dates are Saturday, October 24 – Saturday, October 31. Additional days may be added on a county by county basis. Members who reside in other states should consult the website for their state and county election commission.

All registered voters can request an absentee ballot if they are concerned about COVID-19 for the November 3 election. The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is October 27. Visit the NY Vote By Mail website for more information.

REMEMBER – If you are voting by mail, please return your ballots early to insure delivery by the postal service in time to be counted.
