Teddy Emanuel, retired Elementary/Middle school teacher and member of the R-UTN Executive Board, was awarded this year’s NYSUT Community Service Award for her work with CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) at on Monday, June 3rd at the RC-23 Spring Lunch at the Three Village Inn. As a CAPS volunteer, Teddy presents workshops for Long Island students in all grades on issues of child safety, bullying and child abuse prevention. She has also developed curriculum and presented training sessions for teachers and parents on identifying and dealing with bullying.
