We are sad to announce the passing of Joseph Gardner. He was a elementary teacher for about 20 years, retiring in the 1980’s. Joseph, who passed away on August 18th in Grand Junction Michigan, is survived by his wife Sabine. Condolences can be sent to his son Erik Gardner, 1998 Cherry Lane, Northbrook IL 60062.

The Phone Banks operate from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., lunch included, and are located at the NYSUT Suffolk Regional office, 150 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy, Brentwood, NY 11717.
Locally, UTN is also hosting a local phone bank on Tuesday, October 23 from 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. at the UTN office.
Bumps in the Road
R-UTN member Judy Bensimon invites everyone to enjoy the Township Theater Group’s Touring Company’s 17th season, Bumps in the Road.
This group of original short plays, both comic and upbeat, is about people embarking on what they hope will be a journey to happiness… or romance…or an exciting new relationship. It is no surprise that stumbling blocks and unexpected challenges are encounter along the way.
This season’s five plays will be preformed at area libraries during October, November and December. A schedule of performances can be found on our events page or by visiting the Township Theater Group’s web page.
The Boat People by Frank Shima When Sam tries to be a “real Minnesota outdoorsman” on his first date with Liz, they end up marooned in a rowboat on a very empty lake.

Retired Northport High School Art Teacher, Pam Waldroup is excited to invite you to join her at a RECEPTION on Saturday, October 13th from 5-7 p.m. at fotofoto gallery in downtown Huntington. Pam and her invited guest artist, John Cino, are showing photographic works and sculpture in their 2-person exhibit, Sympathetic Sensibilities, from October 3-27, 2018.
Can’t make the reception? The exhibition is also part of the Huntington Village Art Walk on Sunday, October 21st from noon to 4pm.
