Congratulations, Teddy Emanuel

Teddy Emanuel, retired Elementary/Middle school teacher and member of the R-UTN Executive Board, was awarded this year’s NYSUT Community Service Award for her work with CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) at on Monday, June 3rd at the RC-23 Spring Lunch at the Three Village Inn. In attendance to honor Teddy were four tables of R-UTN members. Visit to Photo Gallery to see photos from the luncheon.

As a CAPS volunteer, Teddy presents workshops for Long Island students in all grades on issues of child safety, bullying and child abuse prevention. She has also developed curriculum and presented training sessions for teachers and parents on identifying and dealing with bullying.

Michael Gallanda, beloved brother of retired East Northport Middle School teacher Jeanne Gallanda – Lederer, passed away on May 11, 2019. 

Visitation is at Maloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840 Wheeler Road, Hauppauge, New York on Wednesday, May 15 from 2 – 4pm and from 7 – 9pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Maloney’s on Wednesday, May 15, at 8 PM. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, at St. Thomas More RC Church, 115 Kings Highway, Hauppauge.
