Anita Nygren, retired Northport High School Special Education teacher, passed away on Friday, September 22. a little over a month before her 89th birthday. Anita was pre-deceased in 2018 by her husband Ken, R-UTN member and retired art teacher. She is survived by her sons Kurt and Mark, and five grandchildren. Mark Nygren is a custodian at Pulaski Road Elementary School.
Services will be held at a later date.
It is with great sadness that we share the untimely death of Jake Wnuk (37) , son of East Northport retired teachers Susan and Bruce Wnuk. Jake was killed in a tragic accident on August 6, 2023 near his home in Texas. He is survived by his his loving parents, sister and his wife Meghan and their two young children.

Rolf Herwerth, retired Northport High School Social Studies teacher, passed away on July 31, 2023 at 88 years of age. He is survived by his daughter father of Linda (Chris) Reed, son Ted Herwerth and grandson Christopher Reed.

Fred Rowe, retired Northport High School science teacher and husband of High School art teacher Doris Rowe, passed away on June 8. We have no additional information at this time, but will post more when it becomes available.
Frank “Skip” Gorman, husband of R-UTN member Cyndy Gorman and father of UTN member Matt Gorman, passed away on May 21. A private memorial service is being held for immediate family and friends.
